Since the home-study is done, that kicked off a paperwork blitz. It started with our I800A, which is the paperwork and money for Jack's immigration and our background check with Homeland Security. Since our funds are running low, we needed to start finding grants and loans. We've been filling out extensive applications on at least 2 grants and one loan (and looking for more). We're hoping to get the loan quick so that money doesn't hold us up from getting Jack home. Then as grants come in, we can pay down the loan. Leslie has also started hitting it hard on planning some fund raisers. We have a nice one in the works at our old church back in the Hannibal, MO area. Saverton to be exact. We have a wonderful group of friends and family there rallying to help us pull this thing together. Couldn't do it with out them. It's going to be a chili supper with music, clowns for the kids and a silent auction or raffle. We'll likely try to do something similar here in Blue Springs as well. We've been looking for a place to hold it. We also have a Texsas Holdem tournament in the works that our friends have taken off and been planning for us. I have a co-worker who is getting ready to adopt as well and he is interested in doing a second poker tournament and sharing the profits. So there is a lot going on, but we are ready and anxious to get Jack home. God asked us to trust Him. He asked us to allow Him to be our provider and He is holding up his end of the deal. We've had all the money we've needed when we needed it. He just keeps providing, putting things in place and giving us favor. Thank you God.
Of course, when God is working, satan likes to attempt to cause trouble. I mentioned a few weeks ago that my car broke down. We haven't had the opportunity to get it fixed yet...what a blessing to be able to borrow the in-laws spare car. The A/C in the house stopped working last weekend. $150 to get it going again temporarily and $500-700 to get it fixed correctly. Hey it's working for now. God is taking care of today and we are doing our best to trust in Him and to not worry about these issues. What do people do without Christ in their lives? God has really been stretching and growing us in so many ways through this whole process. It's really very exciting to see everything He has going on. I've said it before...this is so much bigger than us. All the little details of this thing and the way the have come together as well as being able to see that this process was started in motion some 14 years ago (at least)...is so amazing and perfect.
