Gotcha!!!!!

Our dear Jack,
We have had you for one whole year!!!  Oh my, I can't express how much we love you!!  How blessed and entertained we are by you!  A year ago, we walked into your orphanage and signed papers in red and black ink, and then there you were.  Our beautiful, tiny, brave boy!  We fell for you, and you seemed to like us right away. Now that I know you so well,  I am sure you were just being brave. So, so brave!!  You wiped my tears, you held our hands, you changed into the clothes that we brought you and you let us carry you right out of there.  Oh how that day has changed us forever.  We wanted to bring ALL of those beautiful  children home with us.  We pray that they will all make that trip out of the orphanage and into a loving home.  They all deserve it.  You are brave and strong!  We have seen your temper time and time again, but from what we are told, it was way better than what most newly adopted kids exhibit.  You are also compassionate, kind, generous and well-mannered.  You have seen dr. after dr. and after surgeries had to have your arms restrained.  That really broke our hearts.  You have had to be on an all-liquid diet and  you even gained weight!  You pass out high-fives and hugs, you "pound it then blow it up", and you are always the first to say "hi" to friends and strangers alike.  You are amazing!!!  When you wrap around my arm and pull my face close to yours to sleep, my heart just melts!  How could we ever deserve your love and trust??  Oh, you have our hearts!!  You are fearless and that scares us sometimes!  You love to swim!  We can't get your floaties and life jacket on you fast enough sometimes!  Have I mentioned that  you eat ALL THE TIME???  Oh, yeah, you do!  I'm not sure how you haven't gained 100 pounds other than you NEVER sit still!  And you love Callou, Kailan, Barney, and Bearenstien Bears.  You color and paint, play with play-doh, and you love video games, too.
In September we brought you home to Kansas City and you met all of your family and friends.  You were overwhelmed at first, but you did so great with a little bit of time.
In October we went to a pumkin patch and carved pumpkins.
In November you had your first palate repair and were a rock start.
In December you had your first ever Christmas and loved it!!
In January we had record amounts of snow and you loved to play in it with your brother and sisters.
In February you started liking ice cream.
In March we went to Meme and Pappy's for a visit over Spring break.
In April you had your second palate repair and did wonderful again.
In May you went to an indoor water park and loved it!
In June we opened the pool and you began to jump and go under the water and just had a blast!
In July we watched the fireworks and made 'smore's with Meem and Pap and you would say "Oh, that's cool"! over and over.
In August you started speech and are doing so well.  Mrs. Teresa loves you!
And now it's a whole year.  We never dreamed we would have a precious little boy from China, and yet here you are!!  You are smart, funny, LOUD, silly, full of non-stop energy, and so so sweet!
Happy Gotcha Day Jack!!!  We are so blessed to be your family!!  We are looking forward to watching you grow up into the amazing man that God has call and created you to be.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
