The good news is...we received tentative travel dates. The bad news is...Jack drew the short straw again. For whatever reason, we have to wait almost 5 weeks to travel, which means our boy gets to spend another birthday in the orphanage. We will have now missed two of his birthdays since we have been matched with him. This can be a very frustrating experience. It's hard to understand how some families can turn around and travel in 5 days and a few weeks later, we have to wait over a month to be able to travel. Not to mention that due to a couple oversights, we should have been doing this about 6 weeks ago. The other frustrating aspect of this travel date is the fact that we leave right as the kids are starting school, which adds another layer of difficulty to the whole situation. Ug! He should have been home by now! I wish we had the resources and the ability to just go live there for the next month. I would do it in a heartbeat.
Now that I've got that out of my system. It is what it is. We just have to trust God's timing. As we always say, God's timing is perfect...never early...never late. Maybe by then, the astronomical prices of airfare will have come back down reducing the amount of debt we'll have incurred to get our boy home. Until we can get there, we'll just keep praying that God continues to sing and dance over Jack every day, every hour, and every minute. As frustrating as it has been lately...we are greatful that God has invited us to join Him on this journey and are soooo ready for the next leg of the journey to begin.
The tentative travel dates are August 20 - September 3.
